Privacy Policy

This is the personal portfolio of May Sunktong. It exists to show my work, so it's built to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains what that means in practice.

The short version

• There are no accounts, sign-up forms, contact forms or newsletters on this site.
• I don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
• The only cookie remembers whether you left the sidebar open or closed.

What is collected when you visit

Like almost every website, this site runs on a hosting provider whose servers automatically record basic technical details when a page is requested: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These server logs are used only to keep the site running, secure and free of abuse, and are kept for a limited period set by the hosting provider.

I don't use this information to identify you, and I don't combine it with any other data.

Cookies

This site sets a single cookie, sidebar_state, when you open or close the sidebar. It stores only whether the sidebar is open, so the site looks the way you left it, and it expires after 7 days. It's strictly functional: it isn't used for tracking and isn't shared with anyone.

Fonts and images

Fonts are served from this site itself rather than loaded from Google, so your browser doesn't contact Google Fonts when you visit. Project images are stored with an image host and a content platform (ImageKit and Sanity) and are delivered through this site's own image optimisation, so your browser doesn't request them from those services directly.

Content management

The text and images on this site are managed in Sanity, a hosted content platform. Sanity stores the portfolio content I write. It doesn't receive or store information about visitors.

Links to other sites

Project pages and the contact section link to other websites, such as GitHub, LinkedIn and live project demos. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy doesn't cover what they collect once you follow a link.

Getting in touch

If you contact me through one of the platforms linked on the About page, that platform handles your message under its own privacy policy. I'll only use what you send to reply to you, and I won't share it or add you to any mailing list.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, data protection laws such as the GDPR may give you the right to ask what personal data is held about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Because this site doesn't collect personal data beyond short-lived server logs, there is usually nothing held about you, but if you have a question or request, reach out through the links on the About page.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example if I add analytics or a contact form, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
